Procedure

EHS Training (UOM 311) sets out responsibilities for planning, delivering and recording environment, health & safety training at the University of Melbourne.

Refresher Training Assessments

After staff have received initial training, they are required to confirm their understanding every three years. Confirmation of understanding is achieved by completing a Refresher Training Assessment.

Refresher Training Assessments for each training course are available from each course information listing: refer to Training Courses Available. If there is no Refresher Training Assessment published online for a particular course, please contact the listed provider for more information.

Responsibilities

Divisions - Planning and Coordination

The Head of Division is responsible for formulating and periodically reviewing the local OHS training plan in consultation with staff in the local area.

The Local OHS Practice Expert in the Division will:

Supervisors/Managers - Determining Individual Requirements

Supervisors/managers are responsible for identifying the training needs (including refresher training needs) of staff and students under their supervisory/management control, in consultation with the staff or student in question. Training needs are based on the nature of work/activity undertaken.

You must determine or review your staff/student's training needs when:

Individual Staff and Students

Individual staff and students should consult their supervisor about their training needs. Your Local OHS Practice Expert can provide further advice if needed.
