Workstation self-assessment

Workstation self-assessment

Health & Safety - Undertake a workstation self-assessment provides guidance on how to complete the form and request assistance from your supervisor as required.

Use the computer workstation self-assessment to help you assess your computer workstation and make simple adjustments to optimise your comfort. This checklist should be completed when you join the University as a staff member and whenever you move to a new workstation location.

Once completed, provide a copy of your form to your manager or supervisor for review.

In most cases you will be able to resolve any issues by speaking to your manager or supervisor. If you are unable to resolve workstation concerns highlighted in your self-assessment, please seek additional assistance by completing Office Ergonomic training available via TrainME (access requires UoM credentials).

If your supervisor is unable to resolve your workstation concern, please contact your local Health and Safety Business Partner for assistance.

Escalation to Health and Safety Business Partner

Health & Safety - Request a workstation assessment process provides guidance on how to escalate an assistance request related to your workstation assessment from your supervisor to your local health and safety business partner.

If your local health and safety business partner is unable to resolve your workstation concern, they will escalate your concerns to the University Ergonomists.

Escalation to Ergonomic Specialist

Where a workstation self-assessment has been completed by a staff member and concerns persist after the supervisor and local health and safety business partner has reviewed and assisted, the local health and safety business partner may escalate the assessment to the Health and Safety Specialist team for specialist ergonomic assistance.
