Educators' Guide

The Educator's Guide is a general ‘how-to’ for the most common student service and support topics, designed to help you support your students to succeed inside and outside of the classroom. The Educators’ Guide provides information on:

  • Specific support services
  • Managing concerns about student wellbeing in the classroom
  • Supporting students with anxiety, wellbeing concerns, withdrawal or lack of engagement

Student Health and wellbeing Digital Hub

The Student Health and Wellbeing Digital Hub a platform that connects students to available health and wellbeing resources. The platform includes links to:

  • Psychology and Health Services appointments
  • Self-help guidance
  • Resilience and wellbeing webinars
  • Mindfulness programs

Mental Health Crisis Support

The University Mental Health Crisis Support Services is available 24 hours 7 days a week. Students can text or call to get help from a call supporter during challenging times and for help with:

  • Finding immediate relief from emotional distress
  • Identifying coping strategies for current problems or a crisis
  • Exploring pathways for longer-term solutions
  • Working out the next steps to take

Mental Health Advice for Others (Secondary Consultation)

If you are concerned about a student's wellbeing, you can contact the University’s Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) for mental health advice for others (i.e., request a secondary consultation) by calling 03 8344 6927 during opening hours.
